I was replacing an old cartridge that had started to fail, and the numbers didn't correspond to anything currently on the market. I sent photos of the old cartridge and they identified the correct replacement (Chicago Faucet 377-XKLHJKABNF Lh Ceramic Cartridge), which is working flawlessly--no more dripping.

Perfect fit.  Forcing Alaskan customers to use Fed Ex for freight doubles the price of the product

At a time when so many hardware items are made in China with substandard materials and poor finish quality, this replacement cartridge is made in Germany and fits perfectly.  Chicago faucets are worth the premium over big-box brands because everything can be repaired and/or replaced easily without swapping the entire faucet.  Much cheaper and easier in the long run.  After 15 years of heavy use, our kitchen faucets still perform perfectly.

About 40 years ago as I worked on the wall-mounted faucet in the kitchen of our first house, I asked a plumbing supply merchant if there was an industry leader in faucets.  Without hesitation he said "Yes.  Chicago."  Ever since, I've used Chicago's products in the kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms of my homes.  When I first saw the name Chicago Faucet Shoppe on the internet, I thought it might be an exclusive Chicago Faucet dealer.  As I soon learned, it isn't.  But the inventory was comprehensive, the service was fast and exact, and the pricing was fair.  Better yet, I was pleased to put a genuine Chicago Faucet ceramic cartridge in our bathroom faucet rather than an aftermarket knock-off.

...about something called a "Ceramic 1/4 turn operating cartridge." WOW what a difference it was made. I spoke with an extremely knowledgable technical servicewoman who told me exactly what product number I needed, and how to address the problem. The product itself is a HUGE improvement on the old one.
