I found the correct cartridge for this 25 year old Harden faucet in a reference book at Appalacian Plumbing Supply in St. Johnsbury, VT. Worked perfect.

The  new stem matches the old one exactly although the internal vavle is slightly different
it fits snugly and operates very smooth.
