Volume Control
Last Updated: 10/01/2009
A Volume Control is a valve that simply opens and shuts the water. As you open the control valve, the volume of water supplied to the outlet will be increased. There are many types of volume control valves including ceramic disk and compressions (washer) style.

Volume control valves are useful for supplying individual functions in a shower system. In conjunction with a thermostatic mixing valve to control temperature, volume controls can open and shut the water to single functions (outlets) such as hand showers, rain shower heads, body sprays and more*.

*Please note you can only control the flow to one outlet with a single volume control. If you wish to control multiple outlets simultaneously, please look into Multiport Diverter Valves.
