About 40 years ago as I worked on the wall-mounted faucet in the kitchen of our first house, I asked a plumbing supply merchant if there was an industry leader in faucets. This cartridge was used to replace a 30 year old Chicago Faucet compression style cartridge in a 1920's style brass kitchen faucet manufactured by Chicago Faucet as a period replacement. With minimal cleaning of the seat in the faucet itself, the new ceramic cartridge fit perfectly.
