Ceramic cartridge
This part (and entire faucet body) lasted 19 years before it completely corroded and failed. Not very pleased with construction.

...about something called a "Ceramic 1/4 turn operating cartridge." WOW what a difference it was made. I spoke with an extremely knowledgable technical servicewoman who told me exactly what product number I needed, and how to address the problem. The product itself is a HUGE improvement on the old one.

Right Hand Ceramic 1/4-Turn Operating Cartridge
This cartridge was used to replace a 30 year old Chicago Faucet compression style cartridge in a 1920's style brass kitchen faucet manufactured by Chicago Faucet as a period replacement. With minimal cleaning of the seat in the faucet itself, the new ceramic cartridge fit perfectly.
