This 1/2 inch stainless steel reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly is designed to protect potable water systems by preventing the reverse flow of polluted water caused by backsiphonage or backpressure. It meets national plumbing codes and water authority requirements for high-hazard backflow prevention.
Ideal for demanding commercial and industrial applications, this assembly is commonly used in environments such as industrial plants, medical diagnostic equipment, reverse osmosis systems, carbonated beverage machines, brewing and distilling operations, paper and pulp facilities, chemical plants, and other aggressive atmospheres.
Constructed from investment cast 316 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance, this assembly includes a bronze strainer, NPT inlet and outlet connections, and quarter-turn full-port resilient seated ball valve shutoffs with tee handles. It also features top-mounted vandal-resistant EZ test cocks with protective covers for easy access during testing and maintenance.
The modular internal design includes two in-line independent check valves with captured springs, replaceable check seats, and corrosion-resistant internal components. A hydraulically operated differential pressure relief valve is integrated for compact installation and reliable protection in high-hazard conditions.
