This 1-1/2" tapered cement sink drain assembly kit is designed for repairing older concrete and cement utility sinks where the original drain no longer seals properly. The tapered tube helps create a tighter fit in worn, chipped, or uneven drain openings—making it a practical retrofit solution when replacing the entire sink isn’t necessary.
Commonly used on vintage laundry and service sinks, this kit provides the components needed to help restore a functional seal and stop leaks around the drain.
Kit Includes:
- Chrome brass tapered tube (1-1/2" x 8")
- Rubber washer
- Metal bracket
- SOS bolts
- Hercules® 14 oz. Sta Put® putty
Details:
- Tapered design helps improve sealing in worn or irregular drain openings
- Ideal for repairing older concrete or cement utility sinks
- Helps address leaks without full sink replacement
- Complete kit simplifies installation and retrofit applications
- Not intended for all sink types—fit depends on existing drain condition and opening

broke
the cast iron ring for this kit broke as soon as i put pressure past hand tight. For a repair kit that relies 100% on pressure to fit snug since this does not fit inside the existing cement cast iron housing, that is unacceptable. Customer service response was "it is what it is". Avoid ordering from this company.

Awesome part
Fantastic cement laundry tub repair drain. This is a quality parts kit at a more than fair price. Saved me from a giant headache. Lightning fast shipping. Awesome seller.

Good but some issues
This is a nice package, but the closet bolts were too large for my sink, and the tapered tube wasn't as wide as what was there before. This made installation a bit problematic.

Wrong size.
Unfortunately, this tapered sink drain is not the correct size. The cone portion of the downtube is too small to catch from my sink basin.... I wish the website had more dimensions listed on the listing so it could have been verified before paying for a piece that doesn't fit.

Old sink
Needed to change the drain on a 40+ year old sink. The old components were rotted. Took some time to locate this component. Bolted right up, no issues.

Perfect fit, hard to find part, saved a lot of cas
I have an 80 year old cement utility sink and the tailpiece rusted through. Plumber quoted $1200 to rip everything out and replace which seemed fair considering the amount of labor (nonstandard parts, iron everything, removing 300 pounds of concrete from a basement) but was hard to swallow for a simple leak. Instead, $40 for this drain kit and $15 for a flexible trap and we were back in business. If you have a similar sink the original tailpiece may have a bowl at the top, where the kit has a flat rubber washer/gasket. As long as the actual sink drain hole fits inside the gasket you're good. Mine holds to about 10 PSI - don't sweat it unless you're draining orca tanks at Sea World.

old tub
The tub I had is very old. Some parts worked, some didn't. Guess it depends on your specific need.
